Kiltwalk 2022 - Update

On Sunday 24th of April, 39 Advanta staff members, family, friends and even a few dogs took part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk.

There was a choice of three different walks:

  • The Wee Wander – 3 miles
  • The Big Stroll – 14.4 miles
  • The Mighty Stride – 22 miles

The starting points were at Glasgow Green, Clydebank and Balloch with some stunning scenery throughout each of the routes.

The sun was shining bright which is unusual for Glasgow but it most definitely added to the morale.

Spirits were high and a lot of fun, laughter and camaraderie was had on the day.  The entertainment from The Red Hot Chilli Pipers was also very much enjoyed.

A special mention must go to a few of our walkers; our youngest member’s Emmi age 2 and Ava age 5 who completed over 3 miles each and to Skye Ross who is completing her charity hours with the Advanta Foundation as part of her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award.

The Kiltwalk is an event which sees many great Scottish charities being supported.  The Foundation elected to support CHAS which does incredible work supporting families of children with life limiting illnesses.

The team were very motivated by the various stories they saw throughout the routes.  This reminded them why they were taking part and how every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a huge difference to the children and families that CHAS support.  This certainly made those blisters and little bit of sunburn worth it.

In total £6,480 was raised which is a momentous achievement from our team (this includes the very generous 50% top-up donated by the Tom Hunter Foundation).

After various restrictions over the last two years, the Kiltwalk provided the opportunity to spend some much-needed time outdoors with colleagues and their friends and family whilst raising money for the Advanta Foundation.

We want to express our huge gratitude to not only the participants, but to our volunteers who helped co-ordinate the event and provided transport on the day.
